30 years experience in research, research & development, education, advisory, mentorship of students & young researchers and providing expertise in several domains. He is also very active in collaboration with the private sector and building a large network of academic and industrial collaborators from all continents. 

He has real passion and engagement to develop the link between Science and Society at different aspects and contributed to several innovations in education, research, technological development and transfer to industry.

He created over two decades a unique interface between several fields (i.e., climate change studies, computer modelling, aquaculture, blue economy, marine ecology, coastal integrated management, ecology, ecotoxicology and others) and he accompanied most of his concepts to the final societal application.

He received several awards and distinctions including in 2020 the medal from the Academy of Sciences in France for one of its prestigious Scientific Prizes (see more here).

Sami Souissi made significant and innovative contribution to the field of live preys and aquaculture in general. He published several key papers in the field and he is co-inventor of two patents. He has a large vision of the needs of the industry and the link with the innovative technologies.
