Management of Teams and Human Resources

Sami Souissi has gained experience in the global management of projects and the setting up of networks of interdisciplinary teams at national and international levels. Through the management and monitoring of his projects and academic formations, he relied on his fluency in human resources management and his ability to create effective networks.

Since his early career he contributed significantly to create a new research group ‘Turbulences, Ecosystems and Scale Transfers’ and being the leader between 2003 and 2007. He was member of the Scientific and Management Board of the Laboratory ‘Littoral and Coastal Ecosystems’ during the same period. He also had human management experience of laboratory technicians and engineers for 2 years.

He created a new professional Master in 2004, targeting the management and the conservation of the aquatic environment. This Master became regional in 2006 (Lille and Littoral Universities involved) and took the name of ‘Integrated Management of Littoral and Coastal Ecosystems’. Sami Souissi was the chair of this Master for Lille University since its creation until 2010.

He has been team leader during 2 decades and was totally independent to find funding, grants etc to have an autonomous team and organise the realisation of the reserch and technical actions.

He has an experience in developping partnership with third parties outside the University. For example he is the responsible of two research and pre-industrial pilots situated outside the University.

The way these external pilots work is quite original and requires a total investment in the administrative, financial and human resources management of the teams working in these structures. The culmination of these projects is a testimony of Sami Souissi’s commitment to the development of projects with a strong societal impact.
